Well, that repository is a fork of https://github.com/oracle/nb-javac It was originally put forward when we got agreement to ship that development and distribution would be in namespaces belonging to Oracle (eg. copyright holder). It has been accepted that this does not necessarily have to be the case. But I'd really like to see something centred around a group, not a personal repository. That's just my opinion. Whatever there is needs to be sustainable and kept up-to-date (as Michael says, there's still no GA version for NB16), and without our involvement. As for being developed here - if the entire backport could be achieved in the build, without any additional GPL sources or patches, perhaps it could be. That might be difficult to achieve.
