Or even make it a promotional statement:  "Apache OpenOffice: Powered
by Community" or something like that.

Is the license even in Pootle?   I certainly agree with you that the
English (original) version is the authoritative version.  But I don't
think it is worth the effort for translators to even try translating
it, for the reason you state.  It is specialized legal language.
