Is the license even in Pootle? I certainly agree with you that the
English (original) version is the authoritative version. But I don't
think it is worth the effort for translators to even try translating
it, for the reason you state. It is specialized legal language.
You are both right. We don't have and we don't want to have translated
licenses. It's legal language and it must stay in English. Distributing
an unofficial translated version with the official release would only
create confusion.
So the license is in English, but we can have (we already do) localized
FAQs on the website explaining the licensing terms. This is probably
even better than a full translation.
