I just reread all my mails in this thread and fail to see where I have offended anyone, or somehow used inappropriate tone. Maybe I've done something without realizing since English is not my first language. In that case, apologies. But please point out specifically where you see issues so we can address them. I believe we are all agreeing that better tools and automation is something we want, and at least pje has stepped up to implement some of it. So as far as I can see, we are heading towards a better system with improved productivity. I don't know what you mean by "where this conversation is heading", though. We've also noticed some cases where we organizationally haven't reached consensus. Some of these issues the tools may also help resolve, by making issues more public and increasing peer pressure. But there may be some issues that may fall outside the tools as well. I am not so sure we can eliminate the sheriff completely, but if I can be proven wrong I would be happy. It also seems like nobody is disagreeing that we need sheriff currently because the tools are what they are. But since one wanted out: are there others who don't want to help out with sheriff duties while we improve the tools? -- Heikki Toivonen
