This seems fair enough to me. Although I think you'd end up spending
more time working on the tools (compared to spending time for sheriff
duty). But it should pay off in the long run like Philippe pointed out.
I've done this before, it should come as no surprise to you.
I'd rather spend the time it takes doing something I believe in than even a
fraction of that doing something silly.
