I like both designs. They have a modern look, are simplified and both are
reflecting the nature of the library (toolbox).
IMHO it shouldn't be a (legal) problem that the left logo uses a dropbox like
box as there are a lot of other logos using a similar one (just did a quick
google search). I'd prefer the box of the right logo, because such kind of a
box comes to my mind if I think about a toolbox. But I've found some toolbox
logos which are similar to the left hand box. So maybe it's just me having a
prereference.
To sum this up, in general I prefer the left logo, but my favorite would be a
combination of both (text of the left logo and the box of the right one). :-)
