Tilman Hausherr commented on PDFBOX-4709:
-----------------------------------------

Some more thoughts:

1) this is a java or windows bug, that happens with small shapes. I am thinking
of submitting it to java as soon as it is proven that my reasoning (printing to
PDF demonstrates the problem) is correct. (I am trying to make the demonstator
as small as possible, preferably independent of PDFBox). If it is acknowledged
as a java bug, don't expect it to be solved very soon. If it is a windows bug,
probably never.

2) The workaround solution would be to use {{graphics.drawString(),}} but this
would work only on fonts based on type1 or truetype fonts.

> When printing a PDF from PDFBox to a Zebra GK420d thermal label printer, the
> text from the PDF is blurry and appears to have the top and bottom cut off
> compared to printing the same file through Adobe Acrobat.
