I appreciate this approach :-)

If the percentage of Tiger users is much much higher than the ones
using Panther (as the statistics at omnigroup claim it to be), then
the baseline should be Tiger and not Panther.

The statistics at omni group says 83.9% Tiger, 15.1% Panther. To me 15.1% are enough to justify Panther as baseline. And besides I'm also
still on Panther that's why my suggestion in not really surprising ;-)

It is always a fair decision to try to get a program to run on as many versions of an OS as possible. How many people are still running W2K? I think the differences between 10.3 and 10.4, from a API point of view are still manageable. One could add some extra's (an Open Document mdimporter, just like the one Edward Peterlin has made for OpenOffice 1.x documents, but that would be some icing on the cake.

Kind regards,
Tino
