This is a http download of the file you already

This is a terminal window session. Open the Terminal program from the
Applications -> Utilities window. The type in "cd /usr/X11R6/lib/"
Then type in 'sudo mv libfreetype.* libfreetype-orig". You should get a
password: prompt. Type in your current user's password (this will need
to be done after each time you type in sudo if prompted.) You should be
able to follow the remaining commands. It is not normal for the average
Mac user to even know about the terminal window and forgetting this can
lead to major problems.

The production of installers is why Macs are so easy to maintain. Why
this program does not have one is beyond my knowledge but it is not
technically impossible. Even the production of a uninstaller in this
case is very possible.
