way off topic, but $600,000 was just an example.

if spammy wants to dish out $6000 and get 1000 domains today, pump and dump, get
1000 new one tommorrow, rinse and repeat.

and even then you are assuming that $6000 came from a legit credit card?

the only difference there is with 1000 new domains/day vs 1000 new subdomains at
googlepages/day is that 1000 new domains/day should be much easier to automate.
 if thats not the case, googlepages is failing.
