It's great if there's some work going on, but can you please stop parroting
that things are "broken"? There's a clear difference between something working
as intended, or something needing a "clean up" because of minor performance
issues or messy code. Latter is no reason to hold up a 4.0.0 release, neither
is any possible new feature that no one has even defined yet.

Btw if you are serious about submitting major patches, I think a signed ICLA is
required. Also a more clear description on what you are trying to achieve and
how long it would take would help.
