Also, regarding the possible addition of extra submodules (struts-faces, BSF, etc.) ... it would make sense to include everything that works compatibly with the current 1.x core, but not until those submodules have had a standalone GA release of their own. It doesn't make sense to include Shale or Ti, however, because they are quite different (and will have their own constellations of modules to be packaged or not)..
