Hi
First, happy new year to all!
I think that last year was great. We have a terrific new homepage and a
new co-lead, a new style guide, and several other new things. Also, the
download page is being worked on. Thanks to all, esp. Kay, Maarten, and
Christian.
So, as to the subject line. One of the CDROM distributors who has been
friendly for a long time toward OOo, has pointed out that with the
removal of the CDROM link, he is getting less business. I think other
distros are also experiencing a drop.
Well this is disheartening, and, frankly I find this odd. What are
people who would NORMALLY want a CDROM over something else doing I
wonder? No comments other than this...whatever the majority finds "right".
What I would like to do is have, perhaps, not just a link for downloads,
but perhaps a link that says,
"Get OpenOffice.org" (or skip the "get")
* Download
* CDROM
*BitTorrent
It might clutter things too much--? Do you think the updated Download
page will compensate, so that we don't need to add those links to the
homepage?
Best,
Louis
