Hi Maarten,
[snip]
I do think we could update the project page, and make it more friendly
to both engineers and end users who are interested in details. I think
we could reduce the four pages to three, where the first contains the
accepted projects, possibly in a connected manner (e.g. fileformats
below, or above the writer, spreadsheet etc. components), and
website/marketing/support/ln10/documentation grouped apart. It needs
some thinking... but I believe such a solution would be better the the
problem noted by Ingrid Halama (and would improve the website in general).
That would be great! :-)
I think one additional problem with the existing projects is that they
have a quite artificial code based structure. For example in the
existing project structure the chart is not a project because it is
hosted as submodule in the graphics cvs. With the bad effect that the
word 'chart' does not appear anywhere in the project list.
Now a user of chart in calc maybe will search for calc. (He also will
not find that word on the project list as calc is called 'Spreadsheet'
there.) When he finds and tries the 'Spreadsheet' link ok then there is
a link back to the graphic project which then has a link to the chart.
Much to complicated.
Maybe we can leave this artifical structure a bit and create additonial
areas of great interest?
Yours,
Maarten
Thanks,
Ingrid
