I'm not a fan of automatic detection. Actually I'm kind of annoyed when
I have to constantly switch to an "advanced" page (or even worse: look
at the page-source) only because I'm looking for another OS that I'm
currently using.

Also, I download for Win32 and Linux from whichever platform I'm using
at the moment and for a number of different target machines. It is very
shortsighted to assume that the machine in use is the sole or even
preferred target.
