Hi Ivan, all,

Hi Berhnard,

Thanks for the explanation. I must say that this makes me reluctant to
link to openclipart.org directly without providing the user with some
explanations (a short tutorial, for example). It might just be easier
to encourage users to go to openclipart.org, download the clipart as a
raster graphic file and then use Insert -> Picture -> From File. Or,
to point them to a location that has a list of available themes... but
then we should have plenty of themes ready for them.

I fully agree.

The default OOo gallery is in pretty bad shape (in terms of the
graphics it offers, a good number of which are very outdated) and this
might be a wonderful opportunity for the Art project to contribute to
OOo directly (as in the program itself) by updating the default theme
that ships with OOo.

This would be a quite voluminous task - but a really important one.

This could mean: providing new grapics/templates
to be included in OOo, putting together a small library of high
quality clipart from openclipart.org that will be included in OOo,
etc... What do you think - is this feasible?

I don't know about the time and interest of the other people at the Art Project, but I agree with you, that this might be a great opportunity for the OOo Artists to contribute more than just a few wallpapers or posters.

I'm going to ask them on the a...@marketing list - let's see, how they react.

Best regards

Bernhard
