Okay, but then why would you have an interactive form that you can't
save the data from?

I thought that this was more of a limitation of Adobe Reader 7.x. In previous versions of Reader, you used to be able to save form data with the PDF form, however this is no longer possible, at least not in Linux, I can't speak for the Windows version since I don't have it. Then again, it may also depend on the export options that are set when the XForm is saved to FPDF, there should be an attribute that can be set to indicate whether the form is read/write or just read only, but perhaps this attribute isn't implemented in the OOo PDF
export dialogue.

Looks like it may be for Windows as well, as I sent a form to a client and they said it could not save the data. :(
