Quick response as well, with more detailed thoughts to follow… A single window interface would be a deal breaker for my own usage as well. It would just take up way too much space for how I use it. I always hard Chris's notion of the single window idea and despise the look of that screen hog Skype. ;) What about more of a compromise than "if you don't like it, either get over it or leave and make your own"? We already have tear-off groups for the contact list. What if we could tear off the message window as well. Dockable windows/palettes/etc have become reasonably commonplace. Why could we do the same? If you want one window, dock the message view to the contact list and get the full single window interface. If you want to stash the CL at the very edge of one of your big displays while keeping a smaller message window on the other display right in front of you (as I do) you pull them apart. -Eric
