Yeah, I see what he is saying, I know exactly what he is describing too.
Adding buttons in that way...breaks some consistency with the rest of
Moovida (went to great lengths to not waste space with stupid arrows
to indicate or click for more).
Also, it solves the interaction issue somewhat though, but... looks
wise, using the opacity technique in Moovida (e.g. see any long list
in the app), it wont look too nice... but maybe it can be solved as I
say when doing proper mockups....but... and this is a big problem...
We dont have any masking techniques in place in Moovida yet to even do
what Keith is suggesting :(
(There is a lot of things hinging on Pigment 0.5 that I need like
this...synopsis pages for movies I wanted to be able to scroll a lot
of text etc. Pigment 0.5 is coming though as soon as possible)
So, to summarise, Keiths idea...
Somewhat solves the interaction issue
Breaks consistency in the UI
Doubtful if it is possible to do yet as a result of waiting for
Pigment 0.5 where masking can be used.

To solve this, I would add buttons to the top, bottom, left and
right. The user navigates a "screen of buttons" and actions the
"right" button to move to the right, rather than moving their
"cursor" (potentially infinitely) to the right.

The current list modifies opacity of the whole item, right? The whole
list row / grid cell gets it's opacity reduced. What I would see
consistent with the rest of Moovida UI is a thin, constant-width
opacity
gradient from top to bottom on both sides of the grid. There's one
problem with that... AFAIK we can't have opacity masks in current
pigment...

We discussed this with Kevin in one of our posts. He proposed that the
upper buttons could be accessible by going to the far left and left
again (that is if the farthest left available item is "now"). I don't
think that's a good idea. I'd rather have the two views separate in
the
menu. Watch TV > it shows you 'now & then', Programme Guide > the full
fledged guide.
