Tom
Don't want to get into the debate about grouping the websites together, but just noticed the item on the list "Build TWFY for the five biggest councils in the UK". I vaguely remember seeing on this list about a month or so ago that a group was doing TWFY in Manchester, and it struck me then that this might turn into a template for local TWFYs, without giving more work to MySoc.

Specifically there could be a front end and server software shared (and jointly developed by? using github?) by local TWFYs, with only the scraping and parsing of the council's info needing to be different. Does that seem a sensible way to go. Obviously would be good if MySoc could help with the coordinatation, and perhaps also the hosting, for those who wanted it, but a decentralised approach might work, particularly given the other demands on MySoc?

Just my $0.02

Cheers
Chris

Hi All,

I'm sorry to sound like a stuck record, but we're severely resource
constrained, and consolidating all the sites together just isn't a
priority.

If you're wondering what the priorities ARE for the charity side of
mySociety, see below. These were decided by a hugely complex
spreadsheet based vote of about 30 people (core team plus the most
hardcore volunteers) at the yearly retreat a couple of weeks back.

We probably have the spare resource for maybe 50% of these this year.
So if I seem negative about new & random ideas, I hope you can now see
why...
