I've just downloaded the NSPD and Code-Point Open datasets from the mySociety MapIt cache. It's great being able to get hold of this data for free (especially the NI part), but I noticed when looking through it and testing the API that the Crown Dependencies don't seem to be supported (e.g. GY9 3TR isn't found). I know that technically these islands aren't part of the UK or Great Britain, but they do operate a postcode system and exist in the Postcode Address File.

Has anyone managed to produce a dataset of the Crown Dependencies, along a similar line to the Code-Point/NSPD ones, or know which organisation is responsible for collecting this data?

All I really want to know is:

1. Does a given complete postcode exist? (by looking it up on a list of all issued postcodes)

2. What are the coordinates of the centre of the postcode?

I'd also like to know the town, county and country name for each outer postcode (e.g. IM1 is "Douglas, Isle of Man"), but given that there are probably <100 of these I can probably just check Wikipedia for each one.

Thanks,

Paul
