I feel, this vote is really misplaced at the moment. The vote isn't about
that the community wants more people contributing code, right? Everyone
wants that. I also thought we (silently) agreed on the shouting meeting that
we (as in all committors) were going to discuss this another time and work
out an infrastructure for all mmbase related code. This infrastructure
should show our vision on the future of mmbase and address the question
"what is Mmbase for us in the present?". Just opening up the applications
module shows a lack of vision and will create only chaos.

As Kees already posted, there should be some clear guidelines before others
can start committing. People have to know what they can expect from us and
what not. I am not against the technical side, but I think we first have to
clarify the organisational side. This doesn't mean that the rules have to
cover everything, but guidance is a must have.

I and i guess also Pierre figured this was a seperate issue, I think its ok to discuss this
again but it seems whatever steps he takes he will be in the wrong. I see his request
as 'ok lets do this now this way' so atleast we create some room people have asked for.

If we don't thats fine too but that does mean the 3e party problem will be delayed yet again
something that we also blame the mmc for more than a year now.

I know i asked to stop the MMC in its current form at the meeting but i do feel sorry for them now :).

Greetings,

Daniel.
