It's not looking good so far at all... whilst looking for hints on the 
ext3-users mailing list, I found the following notification....

If I'm reading this correctly, this is going to put ext3 out of contention as 
long as SME remains on a 2.2 kernel...

Anybody care to correct me?  Or have I just gotten in far too deep for myself?
