Subject: invitation to Brussels

to the freenet people

>From the 25th of September to the 2nd of October, we organise in Brussels
discussions and events around copyrights in a digital environment:
COPY.CULT & THE ORIGINAL SIgN.
We would like to invite someone from the freenet project for a talk on the
27th and 28th of September.
We think that the laws concerning copyrights in the Information Society that
are now prepared to be voted at the end of the year at the European
Commission are direct threats towards free speech, and public access to
culture and
information. In this respect an initiative like freenet interests us a lot.
So we would really like you to join the debate. And push further the
question of ownership and technology.
Let s present ourselves quickly:
we are Constant, an association that organises events, exhibitions and
debates in new medias.
We come from an artistic background but more and more we feel the need to
connect different
fields of research . For the copyright debate, we have asked lawyers,
scientists, cultural historians and administratives to participate since we
understand that this is a question that goes far beyond the art world.

If you want more informations, I would be glad to send you some.
You can also see some documents on our website:

all the best
