Ah yes, nitpicking - very helpful indeed. Unfortunately, it isn't even justified nitpicking. I see nothing that is any less efficient, elegant, or fast in this solution than any other, whether or not it is implemented in Java. If you have a more efficient, elegant, and fast solution, I would love to hear it.
