There's only 1 potential problem. whenever the content changes the RSS client will receive a modified RSS content so it may cause the item to be marked as new again. Not sure, this needs to be verified. Otherwise +1, we could have a blog category for this too. However I'd display it not mixed with announcements since there might be a lot of extension changes.
