Hi all,
I am still testing version 2 on my site and discovered
that by removing the line
server-identifier saturn.wsahs.nsw.gov.au;
from my version 1 dhcpd.conf file most of my Bootp
clients now work. What worries me is not all Bootp
clients work eg HP JetDirect cards using Bootp or
DHCP don't appear to be getting an address (not
that I really want them to) whereas under Version 1
they did.
Below is a debug output, it appears they are getting
an address but they don't. After a short time they
send another request
BOOTREQUEST from 00:60:b0:02:c6:4a via ln0
BOOTREPLY on 10.8.206.117 to 00:60:b0:02:c6:4a via ln0
This a HPjetDirect card that doesn't
get an address
BOOTREQUEST from 08:00:5a:3a:19:97 via ln0
BOOTREPLY on 10.8.102.172 to 08:00:5a:3a:19:97 via ln0
This a PC that DOES get an address
DHCPOFFER on 10.8.205.11 to 00:60:b0:45:8a:df via ln0
DHCPREQUEST for 10.8.205.11 from 00:60:b0:45:8a:df via ln0
DHCPACK on 10.8.205.11 to 00:60:b0:45:8a:df via ln0
This is a HPjetDirect card that does not get an address
I am running DHCPD on DigitalUnix Version 4d
I have added
allow bootp;
allow unknown-clients;
to the dhcpd.conf file but it doesn't make a difference.
Thanks to all who responded to my previous posts

Hi all,
I am using just the dhcpd server.
I am allocating ip addresses to dhcp clients and
dynamically to bootp clients.
The dhcp clients worked fine but dynamic allocation
to bootp clients did not work under the Version 2
software.
Thanks

Are you using bootp or just dhcpd?
Please send your answer to the list so others can benefit.
