Sigh. Yep, there are a lot of options older JetDirect cards
dislike. Here's my list:
##(HP)## option netbios-node-type 8;
##(HP)## option netbios-name-servers xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx;
##(HP)## option ntp-servers xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx;
##(HP)## option broadcast-address xxxxxxxxxxxxxx;
All commented off, but with a note as to why. When one of
the JetDirect cards fails, go to the printer and print its
configuration page.
The TCP configuration will tell you which "unknown option"
caused the problem. Then go into includes/dhcp.h and see
what that option number means. Sample:
#define DHO_NETBIOS_NAME_SERVERS 44
It took several iterations before I removed enough options
to get the things to start right! Fortunately, I was able
to play with scopes to keep them happy and still deliver
the options I wanted for the "real" dhcp clients.
