OK, try pixel format YUY2 and see what you get.
Fills the screen ok, but the colours are bad.

Sounds like there's a problem with (at least) the YV12 pixel format on
the video overlay. Perhaps they've changed the meaning of the pixel
format register a bit.
I take it this is not needed with the CLE266 chipset? Any ideas where to
start looking for the problem in the driver?
Yes but I'll have to get back to you when I've a moment to check.
Also it would be great if someone could summarize the state of MPEG2 and
MPEG4 hardware acceleration in Linux, particularly for the CN400
chipset. From what I've found through Google it doesn't appear to be
working too well...? Sorry if this isn't the place to ask.
Not supported with DirectFB. Some support under X via the Unichrome project.
