You're welcome to all my contributions to the driver. However,
tracing its history back to find all contributors might not be
trivial.

The 'HISTORY' file has this to say:

--------
The linux-viafb directory in the DirectFB CVS repository contains an
old 2.4 kernel frame-buffer driver for CLE266, probably taken from
VIA. This driver was modifed until late 2003.

It was then adapted to kernel 2.6 by André Kriehn, and available at
http://patcher2k.012webpages.com/ (last mod in early 2005)

VIA released some kernel frame-buffer drivers, not really usable with
DirectFB, so many people improved André's driver, which was working
like a charm with DirectFB under kernel 2.6

Since André's driver was the most developper-supported (nice TV-out
additions by Mark Adams) WRT to VIA's one, the community decided to
improve further development by importing it in a proper CVS repository
at DirectFB.org, in late 2005.

This driver now has very little to do with the one from VIA.
--------

The individual files are a bit of a mixture. Some are GPL, some are
VIA/S3G copyright with a very broad licence, one is copyright Andre
Kriehn.

It's definitely worth trying if you have the time. Personally, I've
had nothing but disappointment from previous versions of the VIA
driver, as have most of the other posters to this list, hence most
people using a different one for DirectFB projects.

Mark
