I am a regular subscriber to the list and have observed the fact that
whenevr someone demands to reduce the price or informs the list that
somebodyelse is providing the same for less SOME OTHER GUYS (NOT ALWAYS FROM
OPENSRS) COMES AND START SHOUTING "GO TO THAT REGISTRAR" OR "GET THE ICANN
ACCREDITION."
It is not fare, This list is meant to discuss the issues with domain
registration. and if a RSP raises the issues it must be taken for
discussion.
I 100 % AGREE that OPENSRS system & support is excellent and that is why
people like us like opensrs only even if somebody else can offer low prices.
But it DOESN'T MEAN THAT WE HAVE NO RIGHT TO DISCUSS THE PRICING ISSUE HERE.
Without taking the name I would like to inform you all that some of the
registrars (from India) are offering prices as low as USD 7.50 even to
end-user with some of the FREE FACILITIES e.g. mails, dns, url/ ip
forwarding etc.
I know the registrars in the USA who are offering the whole sale prices as
low as 6.75 USD.
We all know that domain market is quite competitive now a days and it is
very much specially in INDIA and if an RSP needs to pay USD 10 for wholesale
how he can compete with others and survive in the market.
I understand it is a sole right of OPENSRS whether they decide or not to
reduce the price and there will be people who would like to do business with
them only just due to excellent services and powerful system.
But In my opinion it is again a duty of OpenSRS only to protect their RSPs
and they only can enable them to compete in the market.
That is why I request to OpenSRS and other well wishers (Considering All as
Well wishers only) NOT TO SHOUT at the people who urges for a logical
demand.
Considering the above points I am hopeful and request that OpenSRS may
revise the prices or can introduce some more features like DNS, parking,
mails, forwarding etc. to enable the RSPs to compete in the tough market.
After all if an end-user goes to other registrant other than RSP just for
the low prices only it is again a loss to OpenSRS.
I once again admit the fact that IT IS AT SOLE DISCRETION OF OPENSRS only to
reduce or not the pricing but my sincere urge to think at least once with
some amount of sympathy with the RSP who is doing business and have shown
the trust with you.
Thanks & Best Regards
