Dear Friend,

While debate on pricing has gone for uncomfortably long time, I still feel
inclined to answer your apprehensions, (sorry guys who had been complaining
about the thread, but looks like you will have bear some more emails:-) ).

You are very correct about the the NSI and other Core registrars and 200%
correct about the OpenSRS services, there is no debate on this point. But
there are some new registrars, especially in India, which are offering good
services with lower prices. We in India, are especially hit by them, I being
from India can say that. Try www.net4domains.com and www.signdomains.com
and you will know that they are selling domains for Less than $ 8, with
discounts for resellers, with addons like free emails, parking etc included.
They also provide good manage interface.

The services of OpenSRS is indeed excellent, I especially like the openness
and feeling of belonging with OpenSRS, which quite frankly i haven't felt
with other registrars. Yes, I don't mind paying extra for good services, but
the prob is that I have to sell to earn for my family (and my dog too :-) ).
With retail prices less than my wholesale prices, you can imagine the scene.

As far as market is concerned, OpenSRS must be knowing how the Indian RSP's
are fairing. My sales is down to nearly NIL.

Due to customers pressure I have had to buy domains from them (the cheaper
registrars) and frankly speaking, i couldn't find fault with them as far as
direct customer is concerned. Although I can't say about the resellers as I
haven't as yet signed up being resellers with them.

Regards

Ashish
