Connecting to .ca WHois sites

I was just able to get onto Cira,  but I can't connect to cdnnet.ca or internic.ca. Frustrating! I need to verify a generic name one of cutomers is trying to register. It came in as a pre-reg when I pulled up the site itself I got an internic.ca parking page saying "domain recently registered". I wonder if there really is a federally incorporated company having this generic name (it wasn't the name mentioned as the owner on the parking page) - OR is there some bending of rules already going on in CIRA registry - are there NEW names being registered now under the upcoming rules?   Another customer submitted 3 similar names that are also unlikely to be actual company names or trademarks. The first a couple of days ago came in fine as a new reg, but these last 2 yesterday came in a pre-reg. Sure wish I could get to the registry info to check.
