I think we should keep this message handy in the archives, for 6 months
later when stargate's business plan doesn't pan out, or they make major
infrastructural (or price) changes at the last minute..
We'll continue to build our relationship with OpenSRS as they have treated
us very well. In the long term, I hope OpenSRS recognizes RSP's that have
stuck with them through the long haul, and has promotional rewards as an
incentive or a thank you.
As far as why stargateinc.com can charge only $6.50 a domain? They're
probably selling them basically at cost to hopefully attract a lot of
numbers.. Geocities gave out free websites, they attracted the numbers, and
then they sold out to Yahoo.
Any internet business whether the product is free, sold "at cost" or sold at
a profit that attracts numbers is worth a great deal in the long run.
