Well yeah, that's exactly what I'm saying. Whatever way
its going to work, I need to know - for several reasons.
The final domain registrar might be selected randomly,
but how each registrar handles orders is, I think, up
to them. They might have a first come first serve,
or they might have a random selection thing themselves
(which means its really a double lottery).
Of course, the price of pre-reg's (or landrush lottery
tickets) has to be known soon too. It might be a while
before the system is in place properly, but once we know
the price, there's no reason we (ie RSP's) can't start
accepting orders right away.
The tickets will be non-refundable... If clients ticket
"wins", then they get a bill for the new domain. But if
multiple tickets can be purchased for the lottery - then
I could even offer that to clients.
My suspicion is, that each registrar will only accept
one pre-reg for each domain (the way it should be), but
we need to know either way...
Anyway, I've made enough noise about the issue :)
Basically we need info ASAP - especially wrt pricing and
policy.
