Dave, Kirk, etc.

Hopefully this paragraph will shed some additional light on the pre-reg
process for .biz:

Phase 2 - Preregistration - runs from Jun 25 - Sept 25 (it overlaps with
the IP Claim Service which runs from May 14 - July 9) None of these names
will be processed until the end of the period. The format of sending this
information to the registry (by Tucows) has not been decided yet but they
expect to release a spec in 2-3 weeks. It will most likely be a XML-based
batch file format, and Tucows will send these weekly.

The registry will select the names between Sept 25 and Oct 1 by a randomized
file across all registrars. So the more times a name has been sent the more
likely the person is to get it (but it will cost more since each prereg is
charged for).

Again, more to come tomorrow, but as you will infer from this message, the
registry still has not answered many questions...and I am still very
skeptical about the timelines which they have proposed...

Ahhh, I see the misunderstanding.

I'd prefer the .CA prereg method. You prereg all the domains you want, they
are done randomly, only the winner pays.
