Actually, people have tried the put the foot down and stand up to spam
methods.  Many still do it.

However, it has not had any noticeable effect, spam as increased.

Like junk postal mail, spam is just another fact of life on the net.

No amount of activism or jumping up and down about it will stop it.

You close this one spam house today, three more take it's place.
