Interesting.  It occurs to me (in no particular order) that:

1) The only slamming going on is that of VeriSign by its
   own (thoroughly disgusted) customers.  

2) Their proposed "interim solution" is an agreement that
   no businessman in his right mind would agree to.  C'mon,
   a requirement that you must present a NOTARIZED AUTHORIZATION
   within five days whenever requested?!  VeriSign would
   likely set up a new division to do nothing but request
   these authorizations and pummel registrars who couldn't
   produce them.

3) These guys are scummy.
