Actually that's not true. Although you make the payment
to OpenSRS, the domain is registered on behalf of the end
user who is the actual purchaser in ICANN's eyes. The fact
that it went through a reseller simply doesn't mean a
thing to ICANN.

OpenSRS has been very careful about following the ICANN
agreement closely. Other registrars have been more liberal
with their interpretation of what the terms are. Nobody
has challenged them yet in court, but it's my feeling that
they would have problems if it came out that they are giving
carte blanche access to a reseller. Now, I'm not a lawyer,
and I don't even play one on TV, but that's my opinion.

We think this should be a standard feature, without any quota
requirement. Other Registrars provide it vanilla, out of the box. Why
shouldn't you?

The Reseller is the purchaser of the domain name registration, transfer or
renewal, so there is no problem with ICANN, if I have read it correctly,
for the Reseller to have full access to the registration information.
