I agree, but it probably wouldn't make any difference.  I have .info domains
at 5 different registrars, and the only one I have been able to get the
auth_codes from is OpenSRS (to which I wanted to move them all!).

Saying that the auth_code "shows verifiable proof of ownership" is a joke,
since 90% of .info domain owners do not know the code.  Unless Afilias
requires registrars to provide this info, registrar transfers will be very
rare.
