I agree, but it probably wouldn't make any difference. I have .info domains at 5 different registrars, and the only one I have been able to get the auth_codes from is OpenSRS (to which I wanted to move them all!).
Saying that the auth_code "shows verifiable proof of ownership" is a joke, since 90% of .info domain owners do not know the code. Unless Afilias requires registrars to provide this info, registrar transfers will be very rare. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Saturday, December 15, 2001 10:29 AM Subject: re: Re: .info transfer & "authorization information" > I see - thanks all for pointing this out. > BIG QUESTION > since the transfer email that is dispatched to the customer mentions NOTHING about this > super duper "authorization information" field > to the customer, > all info/biz transfers will fail at this point since our clients have no way of knowing > what to do. > > WISH LIST FOR YESTERDAY'S IMPLEMENTATION > Dear OpenSRS, > Please insert instructions on this to customer's email transfer authentication request > Thanks > Holiday Cheers > Genie > eyeondomain.com > > > ** Original Subject: Re: .info transfer & "authorization information" > > ** Original Sender: [EMAIL PROTECTED] > > ** Original Date: Fri, 14 Dec 2001 19:53:42 -0800 > > > ** Original Message follows... > > > > > I would suggest that you read the upgrade quide... > > http://www.opensrs.org/docs/OpenSRS_v2.46_Upgrade_Guide.PDF > > > > Then I wish you good luck in getting the authorization code from netsol. > > > > On Fri, 14 Dec 2001, genie wrote: > > > > > we are trying to transfer firewalk.info > > > from Netsol to us > > > but the transfer authorization form now has an extra text field > > > labeled AUTHORIZATION INFORMATION > > > - I must be missing something - I cannot find any instructions in the > > > transfer email instructions to the customer what the heck should go > > > into this authorization information field and naturally anything we tried > > > to enter in there, including the autogenerated password - did not work > > > > > > I am getting > > > Invalid authorization information ___ for firewalk.info.
