uh... a quick search on google's news archives shows these and many other .edu domains existing prior to the great ARPANET to MILNET and CSNET/NFSNET transition (begun in 1980 and finished in 1990 when the last ARPANET node was decommissioned). If you want to impress, try looking for schools that didn't have an ARPANET node and/or didn't feed out of the DARPA grant trough (most of the schools falling into ARPANET/DARPA grant category all have creation dates in mid-1985). > Beat that! :-)# Why bother if the current records don't reflect reality/history? Oh, I see... that's why you included the bald smiley with a goatee. http://www.gsu.edu/~mstswh/courses/it7000/papers/theweb2.htm http://www.ece.arizona.edu/~medenis/hw1/HIT.htm#1980s http://www.cis.ohio-state.edu/cgi-bin/rfc/rfc0881.html ...remember, you still had to go through the NIC to get your name included in the host file distribution method that pre-dates DNS.
