Not in any way. From the information gathered so far, Tucows is testing a method to offer soon-to-be-expiring domains to its customers first. There's a 40-day-period where the domain hangs in the void. I assume Tucows won't start offering such a domain before a certain date, let's say only between day 20 and day 40, to minimize the impact on registrants letting a domain expire mistakenly. Then, either one reseller gets it (by whatever way, to be determined) or if there's no demand for it, it get's dropped the normal way between day 40 - 45. What's bad about this? Or maybe they just offer it between day 40 and 45 and drop it the latest possible moment.
