Just a heads up folks in case your customers ask about it...

Here is an interesting marketing scam^D^D^D^Dplan being offered by
register.com.

For the FIRST time, you can get your .biz domain with just a 1 year
commitment. Whereas the other leading registrars currently offer only a 2
year minimum registration for .biz, register.com is pleased to offer this
1 year registration for only $35.

Register.com understands that .biz is world's first Internet based
environment dedicated to the business community and this 1 year offer
gives you the opportunity to get the best business name, expand your
online presence and protect your brand name and trademark

They don't have a special deal with the .biz registry as their FAQ states:

I registered my .biz domain name for a one-year term. Why does the WHOIS
indicate I have my name for a two-year term?

Currently, the .biz registry requires that names be registered for a
minimum of two years. Register.com has reserved the name with the .biz
registry for the required term but has only charged you for one year and
will provide you with use of the name for one year. In the event that you
do not renew at the end of the one-year term you will no longer have use
of the name.
