From a legal point of view, if the domain was not suppose to expire until Sept of this year, you
have them bent over a barrell. They where "Negligent" to let it go, before it even expired. I'm
not an attorney, but I would call one right away, ESPECIALLY since you paid so much money
for the domain to start with.

That is crazy, I'd really teach them a lesson with that one. Don't let them give you that money back
until you talk with an attorney.

Thanks
Richard.

Subject: Verisign Screw-up

Hello All,

The company I am with just got really screwed by Verisign/Netsol. We own(ed) a domain name that was VERY valuable. We purchased it for $5K from the old owner, and that was a bargain. The domain name was valid until 09/28/02. However, we kept getting notices that read: "Hurry your domain name has expired on 09/28/2002" (Note, it says expired on Sept. 2002, which is still 5 months away). We tried to transfer registrars to our OpenSRS account, but the requests failed twice. Nevertheless, we still went and paid Verisign another $35 just in case, on April 12. All of a sudden, on April 29, the domain name was registered to UltSearch, Verisign had let it cancel mistakenly.

Verisign is just playing dumb, telling us they can't do anything about it now and that they can just refund our $35.00 for the mix-up. UltSearch does not respond to any e-mails, etc.

Has anyone been in a similar situation before? We are considering serious legal action against Verisign for the screw up, they ruined our business!

Thanks for the input!

-Kevin
