I know OpenSRS is not the source of these unwritten policies, but this is very confusing.
If I understand correctly, a .info domain name registered during the sunrise period is permanently crippled, due to the fact that it cannot ever be transferred except to someone else with a trademark as defined by the sunrise rules. So even if someone at Apple Computer had a flash of genius and realized that "apple.info" would be much better suited to an apple grower than to a computer maker, an apple grower could never own the name because trademarks on "apple" are only available to those whose business does not revolve around apples. And since the time for sunrise challenges is past, violation of this newly announced policy would result only in uncertainty of ownership? To carry this a step further, assuming the transferee does have a TM, how would one update the TM info (if the name is registered via Tucows/OpenSRS)? ----- Original Message ----- From: "Scott Allan" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Tuesday, May 07, 2002 11:58 AM Subject: Re: what about the trademark information after a transfer > Afilias (.info) responds with: > > "If the name is a sunrise name the new owner should update with their > trademark information.
