No, DETAGGED means the company who the domain name was brought from/managed from detagged it. The orginal owner still owns it, and can get it back should they wish.
We are Nominet members, and when a customer doesn't pay a renewal we detag the domain name, which is the same as saying "we don't want anything else to do with it". Nominet then start a process which can last up to 1 year. They try and contact the orginal owner directly asking if they want the domain name. If the owner wants it again, the owner has to re-tag it to a domain name company who are Nominet tag holders. A .uk domain name doesn't function should it not be tagged somewhere. If they don't the domain name is suspensed. A few months later, the domain name is put back on the market. Hope that helps :-) Graeme Sandwell UK Internet Sites Limited http://www.ukinternetsites.com/ > I want to register two .co.uk domain names which are shown in WHOIS as > DETAGGED but when I try to register them I get a "Sorry, domainname.co.uk > has already been reserved". > I thought DETAGGED meant the domain was available > > >
