I disagree that an Opensrs reseller mentioning another Registrar on this list is inappropriate in this particular context.
In the context of a rumour surfacing about a possible buyout, i am wondering where i would shift to if i didn't like the new management.
While i'm a Big fan of Opensrs and many of it's employees/management, things can change and can change fast.
While Elliot has his reasons for not commenting about rumours, i personally would prefer a clear
and definitive "no, we are not in discussions to sell Opensrs", if in fact this is the case.
In the meantime, without a quashing of the rumour, i have it in the back of my head, that yes, a sale may occur and i need to cover my own ass if it does. It is obvious others here on this list are thinking the same way.
In the meantime, i plan to happily remain with Opensrs and look forward to the government of Canada decriminalizing Marijuana. I then look forward to the possibility of the Supreme Court of Canada kicking our government's butt and Legalizing it.
Yes, i digress, but it is Friday night.

Not singling you out in particular, but in general this kind of talk on a Tucows-sponsored list seems in poor taste to me. I'm sure there are other places to ask for recommendations for competitors (the ISP-* lists, for example).
A comment on eNom: one of their "features" is the support they knowingly give to the fine folks over at Domain Registry of America. Another is the spam that eNom sales staff have sent me more than once.
