We took a vote as a company and the name illumian won for the new
distribution. It is illumos + debian packaging. It has been decided we
will use the same upstream sources as openindiana. We are just about ready
for our initial launch and
still need some answers to questions.
We will be hosting the apt and iso server and are hoping for community
contributions to our distro. We now are trying to figure out if we should
host
the content and discussion outside of illumos or to just make this a
project under illumos?? Does anyone have any input?
