It's funny, because the same companies won't think twice about sending 400 salespeople to a week of golfing in Palm Springs under the guise of a sales meeting. In fact, I was just at the Adobe MAX conference where they had 1600 employees on what I estimated to be about a $8 million event. So, I'm thinking they could take 1% of that budget and put it towards decent customer research, they'd see huge improvements. Oh, and by the way, companies like Intuit *do* send their entire engineering departments on that kind of research regularly. So, it is proven to be practical. :) Jared Jared M.
