I've re-read this thread twice and I can't sort this out: either Jobs is a good example to you or he's not. If he is a good example, then I'm assuming you'd agree with my suggestion that it'd be good for more "entrepreneurial capable" designers, or design minded engineers (as Jobs was), to start companies. We can argue the definition of a computer designer in 1976 but it seems a technicality to me. If Jobs is a bad example, then I don't understand why you'd choose only his competitors to make points about the failings of modern CEOs.
